QQI Level 5 (Fetac Level 5)
This course conforms to the syllabus set down by the Health & Safety Authority (HSA) and QQI (Fetac). It is a full review of the Occupational First Aid Course and will refresh the participant's theoretical knowledge and practical skills. It will also bring them up to date with any recent changes in standards or legislation.
Please note: All participants must be currently certified occupational first aiders. Certificates must be either currently in date or not more than 3 months past the expiry date. Otherwise a full 3 day Occupational First Aid course will need to be completed to comply with QQI (Fetac) requirements.
This course is divided into 8 modules:
Module 1: First Aid in the Workplace.
Module 2: Patient Assessment.
Module 3: Respiratory Emergencies.
Module 4: Cardiac First Response.
Module 5: Wounds and Bleeding.
Module 6: Altered Levels of Consciousness.
Module 7: Musculoskeletal Injuries.
Module 8: Burns & Scalds, Chemical/Poisons, Electric Shock.
Maximum of 10 participants per class. Each student will be provided with comprehensive course notes and a pocket face mask.
1 Day - 8 hours.
Following successful completion of the course and examinations, participants will be issued a certificate which states that they are re-certified to act as an Occupational First Aider. This certificate is recognised by the Health & Safety Authority and is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
