Cardiac First Responder Community Level Recertification

Course Description

This course is accredited by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (the statutory agency with responsibility for standards, education & training in pre hospital emergency care in Ireland). It will allow a currently certified Cardiac First Responder to maintain their certification and update on any changes or developments in the standards since their original course.

Chain of Survival

CPR for Adults, Children and Infants

Operation of an AED

Recovery Position

Recognition and treatment of Heart Attacks & Aspirin Administration

Recognition and treatment of a Stroke

Foreign Body Airway Obstruction for Adult, Child or Infant

Handover to Healthcare Professionals

Critical Incident Stress Management

Class Size & Student Resources

Maximum of 6 participants per instructor. Each student will be provided with an official Phecc cfr training manual and a face shield.

Course Duration

1/2 Day - 4 hours


Following successful completion of the course, participants will be issued a Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) Cardiac First Responder Certificate. This certificate is valid for 2 years from the date of issue.
